“Beyond advising clients on traditional tax and accounting issues, I strive to continually provide them with value-added service. Whether I can help cut costs for their businesses or offer guidance on personal financial issues, I am more than willing to provide my support.”
Lamonte joined Maner Costerisan in 1973 following his college graduation. He currently serves as treasurer of the firm and is the chair of Maner Costerisan’s Nonprofit Committee and Marketing Committee, and is a member of the Affordable Housing Committee.
In addition to his leadership roles, Lamonte’s day-to-day responsibilities lie in the firm’s audit department where he specializes in providing audit related services to nonprofit-majority associations and affordable housing organizations. He also works with organizations in the closely-held business and governmental industries.
Lamonte pursued a career in accounting because the subject seemed to be the most difficult in his university’s business school. This level of difficulty presented him with a definite challenge he could not turn down. Lamonte attributes his career’s success to the constant contact he maintains with his clients to ensure their needs are met and their goals are achieved. In addition, Lamonte credits his strong work ethic and problem solving abilities to his days working on a farm while growing up, where he was responsible for accomplishing tasks and chores with minimal supervision.
Lamonte resides in Dewitt, Michigan with his wife, Donna. Together they have three children, each of whom works in the accounting field. In his free time, Lamonte enjoys playing golf and running. He is also an avid Michigan State University Spartans sports fan.
