Mark joined Maner Costerisan in 2001 following his college graduation. As a senior manager in the firm’s audit department, he works primarily in the education niche where he specializes in higher education audits. Mark also maintains expertise with audits of ambulance companies and has general experience with for-profit, nonprofit and governmental entities. Beyond his client duties, he serves in Maner Costerisan’s coaching and mentor niche, helping develop and train his department’s staff.
Mark’s clients look to him throughout the year for support on various audit related projects. In particular, during the summer months he performs audit services, including federal student aid testing, to various colleges ranging from 150 to 1,100 students. In addition, Mark prepares year-end audits for various nonprofit organizations which service the needs of children. He also has experience providing audits for nonprofit ambulance companies which, in aggregate, cover a significant portion of southern Michigan.
Mark decided to pursue an accounting career in college. More specifically, when looking through the list of majors offered by his school, accounting seemed to be the right fit for him. Today Mark credits his success to his colleagues, who have been instrumental in his professional development and advancement.
Mark grew up in Stevensville, Michigan and currently resides in Lansing with his wife, Kimberly, and their two daughters, Lois and Lillian. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball and billiards and working on various household projects.
